The Leicester Hate Crime Project Conference

5th September 2014, http://www2.le.ac.uk/departments/criminology/news-and-events/the-leicester-hate-crime-project-conference

For the past two years the Leicester Hate Crime Project has been conducting groundbreaking research into the nature and impact of hate crime. The study – the largest ever examination of hate crime victimisation – has uncovered new and significant insights into victims’ experiences of hate and prejudice. It also offers evidence-based recomendation to policy-makers and practitioners which outline ways to support hate crime victims more effectively.

The findings from the research will be outlined at a special one-day conference, to be held on 5th September 2014 at College Court, University of Leicester.

The conference is free to all delegates and will feature:

  • key findings and recomendations from the Leicester Hate Crime Project
  • victims describing their experiences of hate crime
  • a Hate Crime ‘Question Time’ panel featuring campaigners and senior criminal justice practitioners
  • input from leading academics and community organisations
