2024 Digital Democracy Workshop

Thursday 24 – Friday 25 October 2024, Zurich, Switzerland

The Digital Democracy Workshop is co-organized by the Democracy Community of the Digital Society Initiative (DSI) and the Digital Democracy Lab (DigDemLab) at the University of Zurich. It aims to facilitate exchange among scholars from different substantive fields working on these topics. We particularly encourage early-career researchers and those belonging to groups traditionally underrepresented in the field to join us in Zurich.

The workshop is focused on subjects including political communication, artificial intelligence, content moderation, participation, public policy & opinion, autocracies & violence, and theoretical questions in the area of digital democracy, among others.

Workshop attendance is free and is open to both paper presenters and non-presenters, but registration is required and subject to seat availability. The workshop will take place in Zurich and all presenters are expected to attend in person.

Organizing committee:

Alexandre Bovet, Dina Della Casa, Fabrizio Gilardi, Emma Hoes, Matthias Leese, Maël Kubli, Karsten Donnay, Jennifer Victoria Scurrell, Florian Schaffner, Iuliia Spycher, Philipp Trein, Daan van der Weijden. We can be reached at democracy@dsi.uzh.ch.
