Abolitionist Approaches to Hate Crime

Sunday 23 January 2022, 13:30 – 16:30 GMT, London, UK

As part of When We Speak’s volume series we are hosting Remember and Resist and their workshop on Abolitionist approaches to hate crime.

For communities of colour the state mechanisms including the police do not represent safety. This workshop will look at how we respond to violence and care for each other within our communities outside of these structures.

Remember and Resist are a collective of queer abolitionist and anti-border activists and organisers of East Asian descent. We came together through diaspora organising as part of daikon* zine and the Remember the Essex 39 Campaign.

When We Speak is an activist course supporting young people to run their own social change projects. We provide training, specialised coaching, youth led spaces and funding opportunities

This event is for Black people and People of Colour only. We will hold other volume events that are open to all. Please email: whenwespeak@toynbeehall.org.uk if you would like to receive updates on future events.
