Call for Papers (Extended): Transphobic Hate Crime Edited Book

**New Deadline Friday 12 January 2024**

 

This is an extended call for contributions to an edited collection which focuses on transphobia
and transphobic hate crime. Despite growing interest, there remains a limited
amount of research into transphobic hate crimes and this collection aims to address
this gap.

We welcome both empirical and theoretical contributions, from academics,
practitioners and community organisations. Topics of interest include, but are not
limited to:

• Contemporary debates in Transphobic hate crime
• Intersectional Perspectives on Transphobic hate crimes
• International Perspectives on Transphobic hate crimes
• Institutional Transphobia
• Transphobic hate crime and Human Rights
• Non-binary People’s Experiences of Transphobic hate crimes
• Transphobic Hate Crime & The Criminal Justice System
• Responding to Transphobic Hate Crime
• Media Representations of Trans Communities

It is anticipated that first drafts of chapters will be submitted in summer 2024, with
the final manuscript being delivered to the publisher in January 2025.

Interested academics, practitioners and community members should submit a 300-
word abstract to Ben Colliver, Jane Healy, Katie McBride and Gina Gwenffrewi by
