Interfaith Solidarity: LGBT+ Rights

Saturday 12 March 2016, 11:00-16:00pm, Coventry

This is a student-led and chaired conference, a student empowerment event aimed at demonstrating inter-faith solidarity with the LGBT+ Rights cause.

This talk will be supported and hosted by both the Warwick Pride Society and Warwick Atheists, Secularists and Humanists. This is an exciting and innovative conference which will help tackle discrimination against one’s LGBT+ identity, and how that faith (and no faith) should never be used as justifications for this to occur. It will also look into religious and non-religious shared views which provocatively bully or advocate Homophobia and promote counter narratives to empower an inter-faith solidarity in the universality of human rights.

The event is being supported by Ben Cohen’ Stand-up Foundation. There great work in promoting human rights and seeking to end discrimination and bullying is listed on their website: http://www.standupfoundation.com/

Speakers at this event include representatives from Abrahamic Religions and Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and also Atheism.
