We are excited to invite all professionals working in Haringey to come and attend our LGBTQ Hate Crime Awareness Workshop.

The aims of the workshop:

  • Give professionals knowledge and understanding of LGBTQ issues
  • Raise awareness of the prevalence of hate crime and the impact on victims as well as the barriers for seeking support (this approach had to be intersectional)
  • Support professionals to support survivors to report to the police and gain help from other organisations.

The content of the workshop will cover:

  1. LGBTQ definitions
  2. Stereotyping/Myth Busting
  3. Sessions from professionals working in charities to support survivors.
  4. Sessions from the police on how to report incidents
  5. A session looking at why it is so difficult to seek support and ways you can support people to overcome these barriers.

There will also be a short Q&A Session at the end.
