Police Hate Crime Surgeries – Wolverhampton

Hate crime is a real issue for the LGBT+ community. If you are perceived to be LGBT you are far more likely to be targeted for a hate crime of the basis on sexual orientation. Last year alone, there were 718 recorded hate crimes in the West Midlands motivated by sexual orientation.

Hate crime doesn’t just affect the person that is targeted, but also their family, friends and others of the same community – in this case, people that identify as LGBT+.

West Midlands Police are running a series of LGBT+ hate crime surgeries at the the Citizens Advice Bureau in Wolverhampton between October 2018 and June 2019. Come along, hear the facts and share your story.
