Warwickshire Domestic Abuse and Hate Crime Virtual Summit

Saturday 27 March 2021, 3:00 pm – 5:30 pm GMT, online (UK)

Please join us on the afternoon of Saturday 27th March 2021 for our county’s Domestic Abuse and Hate Crime Summit, hosted by Ben Twomey, Labour and Co-operative Party Candidate for Warwickshire Police and Crime Commissioner.

The virtual summit is free to attend but you will need to register for a ticket in advance. Ben will be joined by a range of fantastic national speakers, including Jess Phillips MP (Shadow Domestic Violence Minister) and Seema Malhotra MP (former Shadow Minister for Preventing Violence Against Women and Girls).

You will also hear from local groups and individuals who have been working hard to tackle these issues, including Warwickshire Pride, Matt Western MP, Cllr Maggie O’Rourke and Cllr Mini Mangat.

In Warwickshire, both hate crime and domestic abuse have continued to rise in recent years. This summit is an opportunity to raise awareness of these often hidden crimes and to encourage our communities to speak out about them.

With the current Police Commissioner overseeing staff in Warwickshire’s Domestic Abuse Unit being laid of, it is also a chance to bring together local people to discuss how we can and must improve the situation in our county.

The summit will take place between 2 – 4:30pm on Zoom. We will send you the log-in details the day before the event, after you have signed up using the register button on this page.
