A Community Response on Policing Anti-Muslim Hate Crimes

Thursday 15 October 2015, 9:30-3:00pm, London

Tell MAMA (Measuring anti-Muslim Attacks), invites you to our conference entitled, “A Community Response on Policing Anti-Muslim Hate Crimes.” This conference is being held as part of National Hate Crime Awareness Week.

Tell MAMA is the only national body which supports victims of anti-Muslim hatred and which maps, measures and monitors anti-Muslim hatred on a national level. Our work is based on self-referrals, partnerships with police forces to gain a wider pictures of what is taking place nationally and in working with Muslim communities across the country. Our methodology is independently peer reviewed and is checked and validated and this makes our data and analysis unique in its own right by working with various Central Government and civil society partners.

The event will bring together police officers, the prosecution service and communities to discuss how Islamophobic hate crimes are recorded, investigated, and prosecuted in two panel discussions. The conference presents an opportunity for dialogue between communities and police forces to create future pathways when dealing with this hate crime strand.

This event is taking place at the University of Westminster, 209 Regent Street, London W1B 2HW
