Disability Hate crime, who are the victims and how does the CPS deal with the offenders?

James Burnham will speak about his own experience as a District Crown Prosecutor and what the prosecution process for disability hate crimes is, as well as the factors which are considered as part of this process.

James Burnham is a District Crown Prosecutor, a barrister working for the CPS with a team of lawyers prosecuting in Hampshire and Wiltshire. He is also the Hate Crime coordinator for CPS Wessex (which includes Dorset). In that role he has an overview of the hate crime prosecuted by CPS Wessex and is responsible for performance. He has a keen interest in this work and a passion to see victims supported, and offenders brought to justice.
