Hate Crime on Public Transport

Disability Equality Scotland together with partners from Police Scotland, Transport Scotland and SESTRan (South East of Scotland Transport Partnership) are hosting this event on the topic of Hate Crime on Public Transport.

Hate Crime remains an issue on public transport for people from equalities groups, and we are keen to hold a discussion on ways in which we can all take steps to combat it.

Transport Scotland is keen to establish a national Hate Crime Charter; a document which sets out a series of pledges to which transport providers would commit. This event will bring together disabled people, other equality organisations and transport providers to discuss hate crime on public transport, and the potential for a Hate Crime Charter; including what it would have to contain to be useful, and how this can be monitored and implemented.
