Stonewall’s Ally of the year speaks to DfE staff

Andy’s presentation will be on embedding LGBT equality into the MOJ and will cover his own personal experience of LGBT Hate crime, what he did about it in the Prison environment, how it still exists and what we can all do to make our work places truly equal.

Andy is a Residential Custodial Manager who’s worked for the Prison Service for 15 years. He was given the title of LGBT Awareness Champion for the Prison service in 2015 and named Stonewall Ally of the year in January 2018. He has done over 60 talks in Prisons, Universities and Conferences over the last 5 years and spoke to close on 5000 people. He is also a consultant to ERDG and a member of the National Executive Committee on LGBT staff promotion for the MOJ.
