Virtual Discussion – A Forum on Antisemitism and other Hate Crimes in Orange County
Sunday 18 July 2021, 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm PST, online (USA)
Right here in Orange County, ADL continues to work on the front lines protecting the Jewish people and all marginalized groups by sounding a loud alarm against the kind of hate and racism that is dividing and weakening our country by:
- Responding quickly and forcefully to hate incidents that are, sadly, on the rise here and around the country and in other parts of the world – our Orange County/Long Beach office has responded to well over 100 incident reports in 2019 and over 65 in the first 5 months of 2021
- Educating our children and grandchildren through award-winning programs like A World of Difference and No Place for Hate – we have expanded our programming ten-fold this school year now impacting over 30,000 students in our region… and we’ll be growing in the 2021/22 school year
- Supporting Israel through words and actions here and abroad, advocating for Israel at the United Nations and fighting the delegitimization of Israel movement wherever it rears its ugly head;
- Training local and state law enforcement with skill sets around fighting hate crimes and combatting all forms of terrorism – we’ve conducted anti-bias training for incoming lawyers in the DA’s office and extremism briefings for all law enforcement, and in June meet with Department of Homeland Security Cabinet Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas in a round table addressing domestic violent extremism
- Monitoring, exposing and disrupting violent extremism of all kinds that builds its strength on the internet and through social media sites.
No other organization has the depth, breadth and experience of ADL to do this essential work on so many fronts.
