Webinar – Misogyny as a Hate Crime

The government will be instructing all police forces to record crimes motivated by sex or gender. What does this mean and who will benefit?

Speakers:

– Anjona Roy, Chief Executive Officer of Northamptonshire Rights and Equality Council – Personal experience of supporting women’s rights in the county and history of NREC challenging/ advising on Hate Crimes Reporting, as well as campaigns, including Sarah Everard vigil

– (TBA) Northamptonshire Police – How reporting Incidents of misogyny is facilitated and what extra sensitivities are considered as a recognised Hate Crime

– Martha Jephcott, Citizens UK – Background to the organisation’s activity associated with hate crimes and as catalyst campaigner to acknowledge misogyny as a hate crime. Experience of delivering training to Police Forces, including Northamptonshire, and how it has influenced their practice.
