Webinar Series – Understanding Hate and Extremism: Risk Factors and Resources to Prevent Hate-Motivated Violence

The Resiliency Project aims to work with the public to prevent and counter violent extremism through awareness, education, and research.

*Each webinar covers a different topic. In order to obtain a holistic awareness of the topics discussed, it is highly encouraged that registrants participate in all three webinars*

  • April 1: Understanding Hate & Extremism
  • April 8: Local Context, Case Studies, and Prevention of Hate-Motivated Violence
  • April 15: Understanding and Reporting Hate Crimes & Incidents (this webinar will be hosted in collaboration with the Hate Crime and Violent Extremism Unit from Edmonton Police Service_

The Resiliency Project is a collaboration between partners, including the City of Edmonton, Edmonton Police Service, and the Organization for the Prevention of Violence.

This series of webinars, led by members of the project, including researchers from the Organization for the Prevention of Violence, will support participants in understanding the context of hate and extremism in Alberta, as well as the resources available to support people affected by these issues.

Registrants participating in all three sessions will receive a certificate confirming their participation.
